Welcome to the Cosmetology page at the Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center.  My name is Trudy Nicholson and I am the instructor for the program.  I have been teaching cosmetology at the Career Center for 18 years. I began my career as a hairstylist in 1984 at Uniontown Beauty Academy.  I moved to Florida where I worked as a stylist for several years before returning to the Connellsville area.  I decided to attend school for my teachers license when my children were entering elementary school.  I planned to use the license to manage a salon but was introduced to the vocational education field.  I applied to the North Fayette Area Vocational Technical School as a substitute teacher and worked as a substitute in the building for several years before being hired as the cosmetology instructor.  I love what I do and have remained current on the techniques by attending seminars, classes and hair shows.  I love teaching others about the industry and hope they leave the class with the same love of hairdressing as I possess.
