Heavy Equipment Operation has been identified by the Pennsylvania Center for Workforce Information and Analyses as a High Priority Occupation (HPO) on both the regional and statewide list. Employment of construction equipment operators is projected to grow 10 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. As an HPO, Heavy Equipment Operation positions are currently in demand by employers and are likely to provide family-sustaining wages. The CTC has partnered with Shallenberger and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66, and their Apprenticeship Program will serve as a post-secondary training site for graduates of the Heavy Equipment Operation Program.
Visit the Heavy Equipment Operations webpage in the Programs of Study section for more information.
