Connellsville Area CTC programs of study have Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) associated with them. The acronyms for these organizations include FCCLA, SkillsUSA, HOSA and NTHS. These organizations provide a wide range of activities at the local, state, regional and national levels. The activities include the opportunity to serve in leadership positions, such as chapter and state office.
CTSOs also promote community development projects. CTSO members work at food banks and raise money for various charitable causes, just to mention a few community development projects. In addition, CTSOs offer opportunities for competition in technical areas as well as leadership areas. Technical competitions run the spectrum from computer repair competitions to automotive trouble-shooting. Typical leadership competitions include public speaking and parliamentary procedure contests.
These organizations have membership dues that need to be paid in order to become a member. However, fundraising opportunities are available for students who wish to participate to pay for their dues. Please contact your program instructor for more information on the student organizations that best fit your needs and program.
