The opening of day spas, expanded dermatology services, nail salons, and product development has opened the field and has great potential for students interested in the world of beauty. It is exciting to be part of an industry that is constantly changing and providing consumers with what they want and demand; that is to feel good about themselves! If you have artistic talent and enjoy working with people, this career is for you.Students in the Cosmetology program will:

• Cut, trim and shape hair
• Color, lighten and perform other chemical processes on hair
• Style hair or wigs by brushing, combing and spraying
• Provide scalp treatments
• Advise patrons on hair styles
• Recommend and apply cosmetics, lotions and creams to patrons
• Shape and color eyebrows or eyelashes
• Removing facial hair using wax, thread or tweezers
• Apply makeup
• Perform facials
• Clean, shape, and polish nails
• Update and maintain customers’ information records

  Industry Certifications a Student may earn:

• Pennsylvania State Cosmetology License

• OSHA
